Medals reward difficulty progression
Challenge medals are intentionally simple. They do not compare you with other players or claim to represent a population percentile. They show how far you have progressed through the four local difficulty settings on each individual challenge.
How difficulty suggestions fit in
After you complete enough runs at the current level, the challenge page can suggest the next difficulty. The suggestion is optional: every difficulty remains available at any time, and you can keep practicing the level you prefer.
