Rank-up celebrations
When a completed run or new personal best moves your Lab Rank into a higher tier, the site shows a brief local rank-up celebration. Existing users are not given retroactive celebrations when the update first loads.

Category ranks use smaller thresholds because each category contains only part of the full challenge library.
Every completed run earns a small number of local rank points. Beginner runs earn 3 points, Standard runs 5, Advanced runs 8, and Expert runs 12. Setting a personal best for a challenge at a difficulty also contributes a one-time bonus at that difficulty.
Lab Rank is deliberately separate from the 0–100 Performance Score. The Performance Score continues to use Standard-mode personal bests so the baseline remains consistent. Rank reflects participation and difficulty progression rather than claiming to measure intelligence, health, fitness, or general ability.
Your rank is calculated from browser storage on this device. There is no public account, server-side rank, or global leaderboard.
